I have sensitive teeth and use sensitive-teeth toothpaste. I was recently enticed by tooth-whitening rinse with hydrogen peroxide, but I fear that it will undo all the sensitivity protection that my toothpaste has been building up. True?

And does this type of rinse really whiten teeth?

It doesn’t work and you will undo all the good that lovely toothpaste has done. Ouch.

Buy a different mouthwash and floss regularly. If you want whiter teeth, ask your dentist.

my teeth are NOT YELLOW lol but i want them a little whiter. i dont want to use whitening strips cuz im young, so is there anything to make them a little whiter that i can do at home??? also i heard that salt water can make them whiter is this true???

It works fine unless you have problems. And most of the time they cause problems. They are just some minimum wage people who are not in any way professionals and they don’t understand the science of teeth.

i brought some teeth whitening peroxide which is 33%. but i haven’t used it it yet.

does anyone know if i can still use the peroxide if i have a veneer (porcelain one).

if i use it it wont make it come off or melt it?

please if someone could answer this for me as i have search the web and cant find any answers

The hydrogen peroxide won’t affect the veneer itself. The problem for you, as you probably know, is that you will whiten the rest of your teeth and not the one with the veneer. Of course if your veneer is already slightly lighter this may work out for you perfectly.

If you had a traditional porcelain veneer you may feel increased sensitivity – read PAIN – with the peroxide treatment. When fitting the veneers, dentist shave the enamel and this makes your teeth way more sensitive.

Dentist actually clean the veneers with hydrogen peroxide, so it won’t melt them. You can see for yourself if your pour the solution in a porcelain cup the cup is not affected.

You may like to test on a small area and go from there.

I tried to use Opalescence 20% whitening gel with trays and now have bright white lines and spots on my teeth! It looks as though only certain spots of my teeth were making contact with the gel. I don’t know what to do it looks awful! I used the boil and form mouth guard. Is there a better tray? Should I really fill it with a lot of gel? I was told to place pea sized dots around the inside of the tray.

How Long Did you leave the gel in? how long have the lines been on your teeth? it is normal for white lines to appear after whitening, but only for a short time, it will fade and blend in. I do not recommend the boil and form mouth guards because you may get an uneven result. you only need a small amount in the trays

okay, so i’m whitening my teeth at the moment.. but my gums are a dark color. and they usually are when i whiten them. when i’m done whitening them.. will they become pink after wards? oh and by the way i use opalescence whitening gel. i use my retainer for it. you just squeeze the gel into it, and sleep with the retainer in for 8-10 hours over night. is there something i should do to make them look healthy and pink?? anything i should be eating more or less of?

As long as your gums are healthy, they will return to their normal shade. The bleaching gel sometimes irritates the gums and causes some redness.

Just be sure to brush and floss nightly and your gums will be fine.

I had the trays once but they didnt make the entire tooth white, as if the product didnt cover the entire tooth, it wasnt uniform. will the laser (i think its laser), the one time whitening be better at making the teeth all white?

some may find this odd but i was watching oprah about 2 years ago had some dentist specialist on her show on do it your slef dental and they said that f you buy MR.CLEAN magic erasor $3.99 and tear of a small piece wet it and then wipe your teeth vigorusly with it it will whiten them up signifigantly then brush immediatly afterwards my husband had a big yellow stain on his two front teeth before our wedding from smoking and i tryed it and you wouldnt even know he had a stain so maybe you could try it its good for Tons of other thing removes nail polish everything hope this helps even though it is a little bizzare but OPRAH said it so cant be that bad other wise im sure someone would have sued her by now for it
