Is using hydrogen peroxide to whiten my teeth a bad idea?
I read that gargling with hydrogen peroxide can whiten my teeth, is this bad for my teeth? Because I know that strawberries and lemons can ruin your enamel.. Also, do I use 100% hydrogen peroxide?
A dental hygienist told me it is ok to do that for whitening but know that the hydrogen peroxide continues to burn the tissues in your mouth, even if you can’t feel the burning sensation.
yeah, it’s an ok thing to do. I have done hydrogen peroxide watered down slightly swished around for like a minute. It’s an effective but will take time to see any changes. I guess you would have to be consistent with it.

Don’t gargle the chemical – use whitening mouthwash or whitening gel – both use hydrogen peroxide to oxidise the pores in your teeth and whiten them. It’s expensive but if you want to do it, totally worth it.

It is a bad idea. The hydrogen peroxide that in the brown bottle is meant as an antiseptic, for temporary basis use. The thing with hydrogen peroxide is that not only doe it kill germs it also kill you own cells, hydrogen peroxide kill indiscrimtely, also you can become ill from ingestion of the hydrogen peroxide over time. The bottle dont have the proper concenration or formulation required to whiten teeth properly, the 3% bottle means you got to use it a long time and in teh process you hurting your own tissue to. The best is to just get a professional kit with a custom tray.

Considering tooth whitening with hydrogen peroxide is not a bad idea, but for many, the process may not have the results one wants, and they may have problems with the whitening process. Instead there is a non-laser treatment system that whitens teeth really quickly-in one session called quick white. It takes less time and cost is also less. Go to a dentist than doing experiments with different products. Use this link and read more about dental issues http://alternativemedicines.tv/story_1102.html
